Right around this time last year, I kept seeing subtle signs all over to just start writing my idea out. Like literal signs, and many of them. On the road, at work, hanging on the walls, in newsletters. They were everywhere! Who knows, maybe I just started paying attention to my surroundings, but every time I saw one, I got goosebumps. It was like someone was urging me to just go for it. I'll never forget the moment I opened up my work newsletter and there in big bold letters, it said "National Novel Writing Month! Come join us at NaNoWriMo!"
I barely remember uttering, "Alright, alright!" under my breath as I clicked the link to learn more. NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. That's right, you guessed it! National Novel Writing Month is in November (A.K.A. Tomorrow). NaNoWriMo is a supportive network that encourages writers (novice to professional) to fulfill their writing goals, develop their novel and provide resources along the way.
One of my favorite things about sharing my book with others, is learning that so many of my friends and family aspire to write too! Some even have projects they've been working on but aren't sure whether they want to share their work yet or keep it for themselves. Trust me. I get it.
So to any aspiring writers out there, to all the voices that have something brilliant to share with the world: just go for it. I hope that if the dream calls on you, that you pursue it with a vengeance, and then some. Check out NaNoWriMo, sign up and see what tools await you for your writing.
