The Path to Main Street Books

Writer's picture: danahoffauthordanahoffauthor

I remember everything about my first trip to Main Street Books. The beautiful inviting entrance right on historic Main Street, the way the bookstore owner (Emily) lit up as soon as I walked in with a "Let me know if I can help you find anything!" The way the other guests in the shop were having an animated conversation about their favorite books as I browsed the shelves. And don't even get me started with the stunning collection they have! They seem to have everything from the classics, right down to the new voices in literature. Not to mention the other bookish gifts and delights that decorate their venue.

Main Street Books is an experience, not just a place. It's a magical gatekeeper for all of the worlds you might want to escape to and more. And I am beyond delighted. No, OVERJOYED! I am downright still in shock honestly as I announce that my book is now available at their shop. My own little piece of my soul gets to join the rest of the other voices of literature that grace their shelves. You can purchase my book online here or you can do one better and go experience this amazing, magical shop for yourself. Especially if you're a local reader, take the trip and browse one of the finest independently owned collections in the state! Check this page out about why you should shop locally at Main Street Books.

Did I mention yet that The Pavers takes place in St. Charles, Missouri? And one of my favorite scenes from the book happens on Main Street? ...And now you can buy a book that takes place on Main Street, in a shop on Main Street, called Main Street Books? Just wanted to clarify.

And guys. I haven't gotten to the best part yet. Main Street Books has a book signing scheduled for April 11th, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. in their shop for The Pavers! That's right! On April 11th, I strongly encourage you to go experience this magical street for yourself. Filled with antique shops, boutiques, restaurants, bakeries, you name it. And while you're there, take a gander over to Main Street Books and get a copy of my book signed by me! I couldn't be more excited for this opportunity, and I want to give a HUGE shout out to Main Street Books for giving my writing a chance.

The most inviting bookstore entrance in the world

Fun fact: My first purchase from Main Street Books was To Kill A Mockingbird, one of my favorite books of all time. I kept the wrapping paper bag that it came in, along with their business card and pinned it to my cubicle vision board. And as I came to a close with publishing my book, I would look up at it in hopes that maybe my book would make it to their shelves too. I'm not obsessed or anything. Okay, maybe a little.
